13| Alles uit dezelfde kracht

Het gaat de mensenmaat te boven -
is alles uit dezelfde kracht:
het spelend kind, de korenschoven,
de regenboog, haar kleurenpracht?

Hoe is het wonder te doorgronden,
't mysterie, lichaam, ziel en geest?
Is er ooit antwoord op gevonden
als men in 't boek des levens leest?

Ik zie de wereld vaak nog in fragmenten,
en niet de samenhang van het geheel,
maar weet in tere zielsmomenten
mij van het leven onlosmaak'lijk deel.

All from the same source 

It’s almost more than mind can fathom;
does all derive from the same source:
the playing child, the orchard’s blossom,
the rainbow’s colours out in force?

How can we comprehend such wonder,
the mystery, body, soul and mind?
The book of life may hold an answer,
is there a key that we can find?

I often fail to see the bigger picture
and view the world fragmented, not as whole,
but know myself, in moments pure,
a part of life, to the depths of my soul.
